Special Saturdays Book Reviews "Secret of the Sirens" Julia Golding

The back of the book reads : When Connie Lionheart is sent to live with her eccentric aunt by the sea, she doesn't expect to make friends with Col, the coolest guy in town, and she certainly doesn't expect to discover that mythical creatures still exist, an ancient society has protected them for centuries, and a dark and treacherous force lurks in their midst. Then Connie learns that she has the rarest of talents, greater even than her secret ability to communicate with animals. She could achieve unimaginable power-and fce the terrifying choices that come with it.

I thought this book was very good, it kept me wanting to turn the page and find out what was going to happen. Also, form the opinion from the age group it was intended for, my daughter said it was cool. She thought the creatures were awesome. I recommend this book to older readers to middle school readers. Great read.

I love fantasy books and her book is no different. This book kept me turning the pages and aching to read when I had to put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fairies and dark magic and a little romance thrown in the mix.

Special Saturdays Book Reviews "The Tail of Emily Whipsnap" Liz Kessler

I usually read the books my daughter picks, just to see what they are about. I try to read them before her in a screening process, however she reads a lot and it is hard to keep up with her. I read this book after her because she wanted to talk to me about it. It was a great story about a girl coming to know herself and learning some interesting facts. I thought it was a good read for a young kid and my daughter recommends this book. She thought the other books from Mrs. Kessler were okay but this one had her excited. Seeing my daughter excited about reading had me excited about this book. It can be found on amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/Tail-Emily-Windsnap-Liz-Kessler/dp/0763628115/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1321408559&sr=1-1

Special Saturdays - Book Review of J.C Phelps "Color Me Grey"

Color Me Grey

I started reading Color Me Grey and I could not put it down. I lost myself in the world of Alexis Stanton. It was a fast and easy read and I read it in about a day and that is with all my other responsibilities. For all that it was an easy read; it had a lot of good description and action through out the book. I would recommend this series for those people who like a strong female lead character. I would like to meet Alexis sometime and get a few lessons from her. She is a character I could strive to be. Can be found on Amazon.com
